Sandstone, whole and crushed

Every product we'll sell comes from Lancashire sandstone. Some is kept as it comes from the face. The rest is crushed and screened into sizes.

Close-up of clean fist-sized angular pieces of buff sandstone filling the frame, no fines.

Kept whole, or crushed and screened

Kept whole. Walling and building stone, rockery and landscape stone, boulders and large blocks. Picked by eye from the face and stockpiled by type.

Timber crates and pallets stacked with buff sandstone walling stone on a quarry floor, pieces flat-bedded and hand-stacked, soft light.
Walling stone is picked and stockpiled before anything is crushed.

Crushed and screened. Graded aggregates, sub-base and fill. Broken down in the crusher and sorted by the screens into sizes.

Low rear view along a compact tracked screener, one side conveyor rising diagonally and dropping sorted crushed sandstone onto a heap in the foreground, bright overcast sky and a wooded bank.
Screen · Crushed stone is sorted into sizes before it's stockpiled.

The range

If ours isn't the right stone for the job, we'll say so.

Tell us the job, not the product

If you know what you're building but not what to order, describe the job on the form. We'll tell you straight which of our stone suits it, and if ours isn't the right stone for the job, we'll say so.

A gloved hand tipping a scoop of crushed buff sandstone into a brass test sieve, fines falling through, a softly blurred stockpile behind.
